Thanks for your interest in volunteering at the Coast to Coast on June 27, 2020. We are grateful that you’re considering or committing to a fairly lengthy volunteer commitment. We really need you! Volunteers receive $10/hour towards a future Michigan Adventure Racing event for themselves or an immediate family member (or nonprofit such as JDRF) and some “swag” to be determined. Those driving a substantial distance (e.g., sweeper wagon) can request mileage reimbursement as well.

Checkpoint roles and most other roles are not (or don’t have to be) full-day shifts. Riders will all come through and you are done (or follow us to Ludington if you want to volunteer at the exciting finish!). Roles and shifts include the following. See the BikeReg sign up page for specific times:

  • Friday night (May 11) check-in, Big Bend Campground, Standish, Lake Huron
  • Traffic control at 6 am start, Pt Au Gres Marina, Au Gres, Lake Huron
  • Checkpoint 1 sign-in, Gladwin
  • Checkpoint 2 sign-in, Marion
  • Checkpoint 3 sign-in, Dublin
  • Sweeper vehicle from Marion to Dublin, Dublin to finish (AWD/4WD required)
  • 100-mile check-in/start, Ludington
  • Traffic control, food, medical at Stearns Beach Finish, Ludington (2-9 pm or 8 pm – 3:30 am Sunday, can be done in different shifts)
  • Hot food preparer/server, 10 pm-3:30 am), Stearns Beach, Ludington
  • Sunday awards & breakfast, Stearns Hotel (set up for 9 am start)
